Fix your details on Bing, Yelp and Facebook
How to correct your Bing Places, Yelp and Facebook listings, and send a free update to Data Axle, a company that shares business listings.

Bing can import your Google profile, so fix Google first. On Yelp, you claim your page. On Facebook, you run your Page yourself.
Bing Places
Microsoft says Bing Places is free and covers Bing search and Bing Maps. It plans “deeper integrations with Bing Maps and Copilot” (Bing’s announcement of the new Bing Places). It has not said whether Copilot uses these listings today.
The quickest way to start is to import your Google profile at bing.com/forbusiness. Bing says this verifies you instantly. If your listing syncs with Google, you cannot edit it in Bing’s dashboard. Make your changes on Google instead.
Yelp
Claiming your Yelp page is free (Yelp’s Business Page overview). Go to biz.yelp.com/claim, find your business and verify with a code. Yelp sends the code by email, or by text or phone call to the number on your page (Yelp’s help on claiming your page).
Edit your details under Business Information. Yelp says your changes show right away, and then its moderators review them (Yelp’s help on editing details). Add holiday hours under “Add special hours” (Yelp’s help on special hours). To report a move or a closure, use the Yelp for Business app or “Suggest an edit” on yelp.com (Yelp’s help on moves and closures).
Yelp reviews also show in Apple Maps (Apple Maps acknowledgements).
- On your Page, open About, then Details.
- Set your address and save a map pin. Facebook says check-ins and tagging do not work without one (Facebook’s help on addresses).
- Set your hours under Hours. If there is no Hours section, Facebook says you may need to change your category (Facebook’s help on hours).
- Pick the most specific category you can (Facebook’s help on categories).
If someone else made your Page, Facebook says to ask someone with full control of the Page for access (Facebook’s help on Page access). We could not find Facebook’s own steps for holiday hours.
Data Axle and other data companies
Data Axle says it sends business listings to search engines, navigation apps and virtual assistants. It does not say which ones. Updating your listing is free for 1 to 10 locations, at local-listings.data-axle.com. Data Axle says hours are not part of the free service (Data Axle’s page on local listings).
Help with other data companies
Apple Maps credits several companies for business data, including Foursquare, Localeze and Tripadvisor (Apple Maps acknowledgements). If one of them shows old details, look for a “claim your business” or “suggest an edit” link.
