Apple Business is free. If you used Apple Business Connect, Apple moved your locations to Apple Business (Apple’s announcement of Apple Business). Apple says the details you set there show in Maps, Siri and its other apps (Apple’s help on location details).
Sign up and verify
Sign up at business.apple.com. Apple asks you to verify your organization within 60 days, and says verification can take up to 5 business days (Apple’s help on signing up). You use 2 methods from its list. They include:
- a D-U-N-S Number (a business ID from Dun & Bradstreet) or an EIN (a federal tax ID number for businesses)
- a business document, such as a license or a utility bill
- a record added to your website’s domain settings
If your business is already on Apple Maps, Apple may call the phone number it has to confirm it. The call gives you a 4-digit code (Apple’s help on adding a location).
Correct your details
In Apple Business, go to Brands, then Locations. Then choose your business (Apple’s help on editing a location). Apple asks for your hours, phone number and address to match your own website (Apple’s help on location details). Phone numbers need the country code (+1 in the US). For holidays and closures, add temporary hours for a date or a range of dates.
When Apple changes your place card
Your place card is your business’s listing on Apple Maps. People who use Apple Maps can report problems, such as a business shown as open that has closed. Apple reviews reports and may change your place card (Apple’s help on keeping details accurate).
Apple emails you when it changes your name, your hours or whether you are open. You can accept the change or edit it back. If you challenge a name change, Apple reviews it. This can take up to 5 business days (Apple’s help on keeping details accurate).
